SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Jack McBain to a two-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“We are very pleased to sign Jack to a new contract,” said Armstrong. “He is a big, strong, physical center who led our team in hits last season and contributed offensively. We look forward to having him back on our roster this season.”
Last season, the 23-year-old McBain played in all 82 games for the Coyotes, recording 12-14-26 and 64 penalty minutes (PIM). He has registered 14-15-29 and 70 PIM in 92 career NHL games over two seasons.
The 6-foot-3, 201-pound native of Toronto, ON recorded 304 hits to set a new Coyotes record for hits in a season. His 304 hits are the third-most in a campaign by an NHL rookie since hits were first tracked in 2005-06.
In addition, McBain helped Team Canada win gold at the 2023 IIHF World Championship, recording 2-2-4 and six PIM in 10 tournament games.
McBain was originally drafted by Minnesota in the third round (63rd overall) in the 2018 NHL Draft. His rights were traded to Arizona on March 21, 2022, and he signed his entry-level contract that same day.
