“We are grateful to have Dr. Ruth Zambrana share her expertise and transformative insights and best practices to support our growing underrepresented (URM) faculty, staff and students. We are also thrilled that she is leading focus groups with our Black and Latinx faculty associations. Dr. Zambrana’s work is leading our nation’s research and dialogue to move beyond the mere illumination of historic injustice to catalyzing needed change, thus increasing URM agency and belonging on campuses throughout the U.S.” said Oakland University’s Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Britt Rios-Ellis.
Zambrana has published widely on health and racial inequity, with concentrations on women’s health, maternal and child health, socioeconomic health disparities and life course impacts on the health and mental well-being of historically underrepresented minorities.
