Celebrating the achievements of Black women and their diverse and profound impact on society

[ad_1]

It’s Black History Month and this year’s theme is Saluting Our Sisters; recognising the inspirational Black women who have shaped history and made incredible contributions to all areas of life including the arts, industry, government, sport, and science.

We are adding our voice in celebration of the achievements of Black women and their diverse and profound impact on society by sharing stories, with our staff, from inspirational colleagues and influential Black women in Devon who contribute so much towards supporting our communities.

Commenting on Black History Month, our Chief Executive, Donna Manson, said:

“Throughout the month, we will learn more about the influential black women who work for Devon County Council and will salute women working in social care, public health and children’s services.

“I’m proud to work alongside these incredible women. I’m proud of their strength, their kindness and compassion, of their professionalism and their commitment to doing the very best for the people of Devon.”
