Trainings Provided:
Question, Persuade, Refer For Clergy (QPR) – A 1.5 hour, evidence-based, basic suicide prevention for Clergy, covering how to ask someone if they are thinking about suicide, how to persuade the individual to live, and how to refer the individual to the appropriate help. Individuals will become certified as a Gatekeeper. As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper you will learn to:
- Recognize the warning signs of suicide
- Know how to offer hope
- Know how to get help and save a life
Mental Health 101 – a 1 hour, evidence-supported, basic training on Mental Health that provides an understanding of the difference between Mental Health and Mental Illness, how to respond to “invitations” for help from individuals who may be in crisis, as well as provide an understanding of resources available to help.
