WARREN — Trumbull County’s first festival of the season is the 36th annual African American Achievers Association’s three-day event that takes place this weekend at Warren’s Courthouse Square.
In recent years, the festival has spread from Grace AME Church to the city’s amphitheater. Its main attractions, however, remain in the square.
The annual parade will begin 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace AME Church, 1137 Main Ave. SW. Health care checks will be available on Courthouse Square throughout the afternoon.
Robert Davis, who is spearheading this year’s festival, said the event will feature Confunkshun, Joe Little and the Rude Boys and Saudia Yasmein.
“We will be emphasizing the restoration of hope and bringing the community back together after this long COVID pandemic season. We should celebrate,” Davis said previously.
Yasmein will perform on Saturday. Confunkshun and Joe Little and the Rude Boys will perform at the Warren Community Amphitheatre beginning 6 p.m. Saturday.
The annual Gospel Sunday Fest will start 2 p.m. Sunday at Courthouse Square.
Hip-hop entertainers Suede Tyrell and Infamous Cobb & Crew will perform beginning 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Courthouse Square.
