VADA Students Create Artwork for 2023 Women’s History Celebration – Pasadena Schools

[ad_1]

Two of VADA’s incredibly brave and talented students took on the theme “My Body, My Choice, Our Rights” in creating artwork for the 2023 Women’s History Month celebration.

Not only did these two young women create art, they followed the charismatic and inspirational keynote speakers with their own speeches.

The students were poised, eloquent and impressive. PHS VADA congratulates Liliana Asatryan (grade 12) and Gianna Carmenate (grade 11) for a job well done.

Key note speakers at the event included Byllye Avery, award winning Health care activist and founder of Black Women’s Health Imperative and Dolores Huerta who is a celebrated Latina labor leader, activist and community organizer. In 1962 she and Cesar Chavez founded the United Farm Workers union.

“Big thanks to Pasadena Unified School District for the beautiful event and Marshall Fundamental School for hosting!”
