Hackensack Meridian Health to be honored at Spring gala

Hackensack Meridian Health will be honored at Two River Theater’s annual spring gala on Saturday, May 13. This recognition is in appreciation of the health system’s commitment to providing care to patients and families throughout New Jersey, and for their continued support of Red Bank’s theater and arts community.

Gala sponsors and dinner ticket holders will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with members of the Two River Theater community, including artists, staff, and board members at the VIP cocktail party on the Two River plaza. During the pre-show reception, they will hear from Hackensack Meridian Health leaders and learn more about the organization’s impact on the arts community.

The event will feature a special program showcasing the theater’s 2023-2024 season announcement. Following the season preview, sponsors and dinner ticket holders will join Two River artists for a gala dinner.

A limited number of dinner tickets are available for $400 a ticket and include the pre-show cocktail, the season preview and the sponsor dinner. 49 Fisk Street “tops out” on West Side

Halpern Real Estate Ventures recently announced the topping out of 49 Fisk Street on Jersey City’s West Side at six stories. This development puts the building on track for an end-of-year leasing launch for its 337 luxury rental residences and amenities, according to the developer, which tapped The Corcoran Group as exclusive marketing and leasing agent.

JRM Construction Management is the Construction Manager for 49 Fisk Street, which was designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, with interiors and amenities curated by The Meshberg Group. The property will include sustainable features such as a waste diversion and energy recovery system, rooftop solar panels, electric vehicle chargers, and rainwater collection for irrigation uses.

There will also be network of outdoor spaces including a 14,000+ sq-ft landscaped courtyard with green space, an 18,000+ sq-ft rooftop with a 360-degree view, and a community garden. Residents will also have private and public co-working spaces for work-from-home models, a speakeasy-style bar, fitness center, and covered parking onsite.

New fertility center opens in Jersey City

On April 26, Reproductive Medicine Associates (RMA) celebrated the official grand opening of its newest fertility center in Jersey City. This center, located at 100 Town Square Place, Suite 610, marks RMA’s 11th center in New Jersey and brings a patient-centered approach to fertility assessment and treatment.

The grand opening event included food, music, and tours of the new facility. The Jersey City physician team was in attendance including board-certified reproductive endocrinologists Dr. Bat-Sheva Maslow, who is the practice lead and has had her research on egg freezing published extensively, and Dr. Susan Treiser, as well as urologist and male fertility specialist Dr. Philip Cheng.

Reproductive Medicine Associates’ care model has resulted in the highest success rates in the United States, with 86 percent of RMA patients under 35 bringing home a baby, as compared to the national average of 68.9 percent, recorded by the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART).

HCCC leaders get National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE) Awards

Hudson County Community College (HCCC) has announced that Lori Margolin, associate vice president of Continuing Education and Workforce Development, and her Gateway to Innovation Team, and Natalia Vazquez-Bodkin, associate director of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), received awards from the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE). The awards were presented at the NAPE National Summit for Educational Equity in Washington, D.C.

The NAPE Teamwork Award, which recognizes an education team that succeeds in promoting DEI in career and technical education (CTE) or Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), was presented to the HCCC Gateway to Innovation Team. The team includes Associate Vice President Margolin; Workforce Pathways Director Anita Belle; Career and Academic Counselor Rimsha Bazaid; Business Developer Dan Brookes; Healthcare Coordinator Denise Carrasco; Associate Director Laurice Dukes; Finance and Technology Student Success Coach Evani Greene; Healthcare Student Success Coach Afrodite Hernandez; Program Assistant Ojanae Marshall; Finance and Technology Coordinator Hiram Miranda; and Alumni Manager Maria Lita Sarmiento.

The NAPE Heart and Hope Award was presented to Natalia Vazquez-Bodkin. The award recognizes a person who manages major projects or programs with hope, works intentionally with heart, and has made a major impact by ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion in education leading to high-wage, high-skill, in-demand programs of study and careers.

The HCCC Gateway to Innovation (GTI) program was developed to achieve sustainable improvement in the county’s workforce ecosystem, reducing socioeconomic inequities for Hispanic/Latino and African American students. The program also addresses the systemic challenges exacerbated by COVID-19, with the goal of achieving lasting improvement in the workforce ecosystem.

In January 2021, JPMorgan Chase awarded HCCC an $850,000, one-year investment to fund GTI. HCCC GTI was successful enough that the award was increased by $200,000 and extended to January 2023.

As Associate Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at HCCC, Natalia Vazquez-Bodkin leads by contributing to the creation of diversity policies and procedures and equitable services. She oversees the Opportunity Meets Innovation Grant (OMIG), an award of $500,000 from the State of New Jersey for Academic Year 2021-2023; co-chairs the President’s Advisory Council for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (PACDEI), which consists of more than 42 participants; and successfully led the college through the Method of Administration (MOA) Civil Rights Compliance Review for Career and Technical Education programs of study with the New Jersey Department of Education.

JAG-ONE Physical Therapy announces new location in Jersey City Heights

JAG-ONE Physical Therapy has announced the opening of its new Jersey City Heights location at 3540 JFK Blvd, Suite T3-2, Jersey City. The company has over 115 locations across the Northeast.

The Jersey City Heights location will be led by Clinical Director Eva Reyes, PT, DPT. Reyes graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2021 and began working as a full-time outpatient orthopedic physical therapist with JAG-ONE Physical Therapy. She has experience working with and using IASTM and cupping therapy.

Reyes attended school at Widener University and graduated with a Fine Arts Bachelor’s degree in 2018. While at Widener university, Eva played on the Widener Women’s Soccer team where she gained experience with athletic injuries and rehabilitation.

Hudson Regional Hospital has new chief medical officer and VP, network development

Hudson Regional Hospital (HRH) has named Vijayant Singh, MD, MBA, FACHE, CPE as its new Chief Clinical Officer and VP, Network Development supporting the hospital’s 55 Meadowland Parkway flagship and its support network as it continues to add practice areas and services, including most recently affiliating with the OneMD practices in Hudson and Bergen Counties.

Dr. Singh is a board-certified Internist, a fellow of ACHE and a certified Physician Executive with an MBA in Healthcare Management. He has been a career-long member of the Hudson County healthcare community, beginning with his years in training at RWJ-JCMC and then as he rose through various leadership roles at CarePoint Health including Chief Hospital Executive for Bayonne Medical center and EVP for strategy and clinical transformation.

Dr. Singh and HRH’s President and CEO Nizar Kifaieh have been associated for more than a decade, including working with and under the leadership of Dr. Dr. Kifaieh at Carepoint Health System for five years.

Yan Moshe, chairman of Hudson Regional Hospital, noted that Dr. Singh is the latest of more than 400 credentialed physicians at Hudson Regional – many of whom worked with him earlier in his career.
