A ‘heartwarming’ story is proof that

grace and courage still live among us

Re: April 23 article, ‘Why I chose to celebrate life by becoming a living kidney donor

Thank you for publishing Nicole Villalpando’s uplifting recounting of her kidney donation experience.

What a heartwarming story to read during an otherwise hate- and discord-filled time period and such a powerful ray of light breaking through Sunday’s cloudy Austin skies. The writer’s altruism and generosity prove that grace and personal courage are alive and well among humanity.  While I am too old to be an organ donor, I sincerely hope that this story will encourage others to sign up for the gift of life.
