Black women advocate for policy changes in the South – WABE

Nykia Greene-Young says Black women face unique issues in the South. The Adjunct Political Science Professor believes “we’re going backwards” when it comes to DEI programs, policing, abortion access, maternal mortality and reproductive rights, such as the recent Alabama Supreme Court decision on in vitro fertilization.
To discuss these issues and possible solutions, Clark Atlanta University is hosting their inaugural Black Women and Public Policy in the South Symposium. Wednesday’s sold-out event will bring together Black Women from a variety of sectors, including activism, public policy, and academics.
Greene-Young previewed the event on Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look with Rose Scott.”
