Last week, a much-anticipated study from Novo Nordisk showed that people with obesity and a history of heart issues were 20% less likely to suffer a cardiovascular event when taking Wegovy. Wall Street hailed the results as a slam dunk, which helped boost Novo and fellow drugmaker Eli Lilly’s shares to record highs. Wegovy, suddenly, appeared to be not only a weight-loss wonder but also a heart-attack preventer.
