Pasadena-Altadena Links Awards High School Seniors $33,000 in Scholarships – Outlook Pasadena

The Pasadena-Altadena chapter of the Links Inc. recently announced monetary awards to scholarship recipients.
Special awards were given in collaboration with the Pasadena Altadena Community Endowment Fund.
Local high school seniors and college students were awarded a total of $33,000 in privately donated funds, as part of the organization’s Isaac McClellan Memorial Scholarship Program.
Established in 1968, the scholarship program was launched in memory of distinguished African American Los Angeles City Schools Area Superintendent, the late Isaac McClelland.
Due to observance of social-distancing guidelines due to COVID-19, the scholars were awarded during a virtual reception with the Links chapter members along with student’s immediate families.
Scholarship recipients include Sade Anderson of Muir High School, Trinity Taylor of Pasadena High School, Kennedy Hackett of Muir High School, Christine Robinson of Pasadena High School, Jeannine Briggs of Marshall Fundamental, Oshea Foster of Muir High School, Naomi Moore of Pasadena High School, Jade Williams of Muir High School, Keith Garnett of Marshall Fundamental, Anita Abledu of Marshall Fundamental, Savannah Purnell of Marshall Fundamental, London Morris of Muir High School, Ciara Franklin of Marshall Fundamental, Kamryn Hassan of Aveson High School and Devon Weetly of Marshall Fundamental.
Beverly Allen, the links services to youth facet chair said, “It is truly an honor and privilege to award $33,000 to some of the best and brightest young men and women of the Pasadena Unified School District’s Class of 2022.”
The Pasadena-Altadena chapter of the Links Inc. celebrates 59 years as a women’s volunteer service organization committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry here in Pasadena. It is a premier community service organization with 52 active and alumnae members in its local chapter, with a legacy of friends providing service that changes lives. The members of The Links Inc. are influential decision-makers and opinion leaders.
The Links Inc. are focused on creating transformational programming and impacting lives in communities of color through services to youth, the arts, national trends and services, international trends and services, and health and human services.
