Stratford School open house
Stratford School is holding an open house at its Milpitas Beresford Square campus Jan. 28 at 10 a.m.
Located at 125 N. Milpitas Blvd., the school’s newly redeveloped single-story building features 20 classrooms, a performance-equipped multipurpose room, a library and outdoor playground spaces.
Following a Jan. 19 ribbon cutting, Stratford is open for tours. The school offers STEAM-based curriculum for preschoolers through second-graders.

Events for older adults
Bay Area Older Adults is hosting free programs in February for adults age 50 and older.
A 3.5-mile moderate walk is set for Feb. 8, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., at La Honda Creek Preserve. The hike will cover upper La Honda Creek through an area that is by permit only, and a vista point that has panoramic views of the ocean and the Santa Cruz Mountains. A Feb. 9 virtual seminar will focus on the health effects of food choices, including the diseases that result from excessive sugar intake and how to prevent them. The webinar is set for 11-12:15 p.m. Register at https://www.bayareaolderadults.org/bao-lectures
Participants in an East Bay Day Trip set for Feb. 15, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., will enjoy an historic house tour, then break for a soul food lunch before learning about African American History in Oakland. Register at www.bayareaolderadults.org/BAO-February2023-day-trip.
