The Simmons Sisters Are The Creators Behind Oakland’s First Black Woman Owned Pop-Up Selfie Xperience

With all the uncertainty and loss experienced during the pandemic, the idea of creating a pop up space filled with culture, fun and memorable moments had me all in.”

If you “love your selfie” get ready, there’s a new pop-up Xperience and event space with a purpose coming to “The Town ” Oakland, CA where Black culture is celebrated. The 16,000 sq. ft. trendy urban venue is filled with 14 nostalgic installations known as The Noire Wealth Xperience, created by sisters and business partners, Melody and Monica Simmons. “ With all the uncertainty and loss experienced during the pandemic, when the idea of creating a pop up space filled with culture, fun and memorable moments presented itself, I was all in.” said Monica Simmons, Co-Founder.

Both Simmons sisters have been passionate about advocating for wealth, health, and equity for Black Women. Their podcas t “Invisible Women” has gained a loyal following of listeners nationwide who enjoy the uplifting episodes around career, life, love, and politics. These Corporate America queens turned serial entrepreneurs also just launched their first published book with the 13th and Joan publishing house.

These ladies take pride in fostering sisterhood more than ever. From the wise words of their late mother, “always remain your sister’s keeper”. This led to the desire for creating a safe space for women and girls with a mission to give them their flowers before it is too late. As stated by Melody Simmons “We want to see Black women thriving, and not just surviving. Self care is a must!”. This dynamic duo are also working with the Oakland Mayoral staff to proclaim 10/28 as “Black Women Thrive Day”.

TNWX will also host several workshop series and pop-up events with a mission to celebrate, empower, and uplift Black Women and the communities they serve. You will be in “awe” with the breathtaking colors, powerful messages, and inspiration that will elevate your next POWER move.

The Noire Wealth Xperience opens to the public on Oct 28th, 2022, and the Oakland African American Chamber Of Commerce will be sponsoring their ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 pm PST.
