UAB Epiphany holds Community Fair in Orrville Saturday

- Louvenia Lumpkin was elected the next mayor of Orrville in Tuesday’s municipal elections. She will take office in November, becoming the first African-American and first women to serve in the position. — Katie Wood
The UAB EPIPHANY Community Health Fair & Family Fun Day Event will be held Saturday morning at the Orrville Community Center on Saturday.
The Health Fair held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is in conjunction with UAB, New Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Orrville Mayor Lumpkin.
A number of health screenings will be conducted, education resources will be available. F
ree school supplies, hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided.
EPIPHANY is a three-year project funded by the American Heart Association. A hypertension prevention program will be offered to African American adults in Alabama at high risk of developing high blood pressure, particularly in rural areas. It is our honor to contribute to the reduction of hypertension disparities in Alabama.
