WJMG Radio (92.1 FM) announces special programming for Black History Month. In keeping with the celebration’s theme, “Black Health and Wellness,” WJMG’s Stage, Style & Study Talk Show will feature national dialogues with national leaders in Health and Wellness on Fridays in February.
February 11, Washington, DC
National Education Association President Rebecca Pringle will cover the health of the child, including COVID-19 and the classroom.
February 18, Laurel, Mississippi
National School Board President Emeritus Miranda Beard will discuss Health Equity in our communities.
February 25, Houston, Texas
Former Ebony Fashion Fair Model and recent inductee into the Hattiesburg Hall of Rosie M. Butler will share her life’s mission as a benefactor of Liver Cancer Research and offer tips for healthy living.
The show’s on-air host Michael Marks, who is currently serving as the first African-American President of the Hattiesburg Downtown Association, acknowledges that this year’s Health and Wellness theme is a timely one. “In the middle of a pandemic, Americans have let their guard down on healthcare. The fact that these CEO’s are all strong black women championing relevant missions adds even more import to our programming.”
WJMG’s Stage, Style & Study Talk Show airs Fridays at noon on 92.1(FM) and is livestreamed at the station’s website, CBSLLC.live, where more information on programming and sponsorship opportunities can be found.
