In Lancaster, the first-ever African-American Health Fair was held at Thaddeus Stevens College.The event consisted of a healthy cooking demonstration, a panel discussion and two free fitness classes.Recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that Black women are three times more likely to die of pregnancy-related causes than white women.The panel at Saturday’s fair hosted members of the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus to discuss what is being done at the state level to address this Black maternal health crisis.
